"La Belle Dame Sans Merci"

Shawnee

"Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about his religion.
Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long and of service to your people.
Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, or even a stranger, if in a lonely place.
Show respect to all people, but grovel to none.
When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength.
Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.
Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools
and robs the spirit of its vision.
When your time comes to die,
be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death,
so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way.
Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home." -- Tecumseh (1768-1813) Shawnee Chief

My Shawnee Focus

I had this "past life" reading done by Lori of The Angel's Oracle. Several days before the reading I prepared myself for it by focusing my energy and asking that it be very clear, which it was. I had already connected with this focus on my own through dreams and mice several times, so Lori really validated my own impressions and dreams. Elias also confirmed this focus in session 1220.

"Ioanna, the first life I am getting for you is one of a Shawnee Indian. You are sitting on the side of a creek or stream, you are maybe in your very early twenties. You are absolutely beautiful, Your hair is just glistening in the morning sunrise. It is very long and very dark. Your skin, is very soft and moist looking, which is unusual for living in the harsh elements. I see that you have very long legs and are tall and slender. You are actually looking towards the sunrise, as you feel completely at peace while looking to the sun. You are connected to the sky, in ways that most of your tribe is not. You are a thinker, one who doesn't just go with the flow. You like to challenge authority, and have done this most of your life. I can see you as a little girl, playing with the boys, you are just as tough and rough as they are, yet they recognize that you are quiet beautiful to look at, and this makes you feel self conscious about yourself. You just want to be part of the group, but you just stand out.

The other girls around you, including your own sister, feel your presence as almost some kind of "god", for you have an unspoken power over men. I believe the year in 1780, and if I am getting this feeling correct, I believe that you are in the Ohio valley. I feel a strong pull to this area. Your mother and father decide that you are ready to be joined with another. Of course you are contemplating this. As this man, is not someone you want to be with. He is a perfectly fine hunter and warrior, yet you do not feel a connection with him. You have had many discussions with your mother, who is very sympathetic to your plight, but realizes there is nothing she or you can do about this. You have given this much thought, and you have decided that you will be joined with this man, for the peace of your family and tribe. You do not love this man, nor want to share a bed with him. You have decided that you will "pray" about this. Now pray really isn't the right word, but you do believe that "god" is actually a grandmother figure. That she would perhaps hear your cry and change your future.

You sit at the edge of this stream, asking for your true fate to be revealed. You do not sit well, with what is expected of you. To be behind as the men hunt and are brave warriors, as you are expected to plant crops and have children. There is nothing wrong with this path of course, but you feel it, in your very being, that you now, are being called to something greater, something more than what is presented to you. It is time for hunting, and you know that at the end of this hunt, you will be joined with this other man. This young man, wants nothing more than to be with you, to make a family and show you what a strong care taker he will be. He is a true provider. You just don't want him providing for you! You have even taken your plight to your father, who believes it is high time that you start a family. He is deaf about this, and tells you that there is no choice. There are many hunters leaving for this hunt, it is fall, and your tribe traditionally gathers as much meat and skins for winter as possible.

Your clan actually does quite well, as I see that you are dressed in very fine skins, you take very good care of yourself also. Your family has much food and drink, and I see that you have small silver looking beads, that you are very proud of, that you wear on your clothing. As your tribe gets ready to send the hunters off, you sit again, pleading your case silently to the universe. You know that there is so much more out there. You believe the world is huge, infinite, others do not believe this. You stopped talking to your friends about your feelings, because they will not listen. As you are at the stream, you actually see a mouse. It stops near you, and makes eye contact with you. You put your hand out as if to make peace with this mouse. You are instantly enthralled with his message for you. "There is always more then one way to learn, and that you can not be fearful of your future, as it will come like a buffalo, unstoppable." You are amazed that you have spoken to this little mouse. This mouse scurries away and you are a changed woman.

When you return, the men are heading on there way out. Your hunter eyes you, with eyes of steel, as the corners of his lips curl, to form a small smile. The smell of fire, is in the air, and the chill of the air is suddenly felt. You bow your head a little, out of honor for him, for just being a hunter, a provider. The children of the tribe actually start to run after the horses as they take off. The sound of the stampeding feet is something you feel in your soul. You close your eyes as they fade into the distance.

While the hunters are away, the women of your tribe prepare your garments, your skins that you will wear at your impending "wedding". The mother of the hunter, comes to you and tells you that she is honored to have you as part of her family. She is very excited for her son. You only wish you felt the same way. There will be a huge feast, and a special place for you and him is prepared for your first night together. This is also something that is deep in tradition, as both your mother, and his mother, chose fabric that has been bartered for, for the flooring, and it will be a sacred place for you.

I can see that you are just walking through this time, not thinking of being with him, you are just trying to be, with your own thoughts. You like being with yourself, as you do in this life also. You know true love should not come at another's expense. That when two people come together it must be mutual, and you thrive on the feeling of giving and both receiving love. Weeks go by, and suddenly, there is the sound of galloping horses in the early morning light. The sun has just begun to rise, and this causes you much fear. You can hear the shuffle in the camp, as others awake to the sound of horses. You know that they are not due back for at least several more weeks.

You refuse to be afraid as you jump out into the dimly lit morning. You recognize faces coming through the brush. Something is terribly wrong. You are motioned to come closer, as your brother, who is almost out of breath, explains to you, that there has been a terrible accident, that your "love" fell into the cold river water, and hit his head on a huge bolder, and has died and gone to the Great Spirit. On the back of another horse he is slumped over and tied on with thick rope. You move towards him, like a robot, who cannot stop its feet, and you move the burlap from his face. You touch his face, and then turn away to run. You believe that you have caused his death, by asking for your future, to change. He is dead, and you can now hear his mother's muffled screams coming from behind you. You run and run, not knowing what to do. You are consumed with grief, and assume that you changed the future, causing him to fall to his watery death.

The next thing I see is you as an old woman, never married and still with your tribe. You have been blessed with the gift of being a medicine woman in your tribe and you are one who is both somewhat feared and loved. Feared, because other's know you can tell there innermost thoughts, as you always have been able to do. You shut yourself off though, on accepting your fate, you have not known the touch of a loving man, nor accepted true love. You have punished yourself, and let your beauty be taken away like a thief in the night. Regret, regret and more regret. This is a lesson in this life, as you have chosen not to accept regret.

I believe that this life is very significant as I have never before had so much detail in a past life reading! I feel I know this woman, as she is still a part of you. This is without a doubt the most detailed and longest past life reading I have done. The information came through me like I was viewing a movie, it was so real and so clear!! I hope you will take heart to this life and pick out all the subtle and not so subtle lessons within it. If it does not make sense to you now, it will at one point or another. This came through so strongly, it was meant for you to know now.

Thank you so much for allowing me to reach into your past life history and experience this part of your life path!! Love and Light, Lori. "
